Vega Chevrolet -The Chevrolet Vega was a subcompact vehicle that was produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors from the model years 1971 through 1977. Production of the Chevrolet Vega spanned the years 1971 through 1977. It was first sold to the public on September 10, 1970, under the name Vega 2300. The name derives from a brilliant star that can be seen in the northern sky as well as the approximate engine displacement in cubic centimeters. The History of the Evolution of the Chevrolet Vega (1971-1975)

The emission controls on both engines have been updated, and the carburizing and ignition settings have been changed. The intake apertures and exhaust ports on the cylinder head are designed to maximize and improve the overall balance of airflow. The unit made by Opel has been replaced with an American-made Saginaw manual gearbox and a new shift linkage.
Vega Chevrolet 1974
Because of changes in the 5-mph front and rear bumper regulations, the only significant alteration to the vehicle’s external appearance occurred for the 1974 model year. The previous egg-crate plastic grille has been replaced with a beveled header panel and a disguised headlight bezel. In addition, the new front end has a louvered steel grille in lieu of the egg-crate plastic grille. The chrome bumpers on the front and rear were replaced with aluminum bumpers that had steel springs on the inside, and the number plate mounts on the front and back were deleted. When compared to the model that was produced in 1971-1972, the total length was lengthened by six inches. Larger single-unit taillights and ventilation grills that were previously located on the trunk and hatch cover have been removed from the updated rear panel that is seen on the Notchback and Hatchback variants. Although the valve timing, camshaft lift, and compression ratio remained the same, the engine produced slightly more power in 1974 than it did in 1973. Torque also increased significantly.
Vega Chevrolet 1975
There were 264 different improvements made to the Vega in 1975, including a high-energy electronic ignition system and a catalytic converter. New options include power brakes, a tilt steering wheel, BR78-13B GM-spec steel bonded radial tires, and the choice of a unique fabric inside that is designed exclusively for the Hatchback and the Kammback. After a delay of more than a year and a half, the Chevrolet Cosworth Vega was finally shown in March of this year. It featured an all-aluminum twin-cam inline-4 engine and was the first Chevrolet passenger vehicle to use electronic fuel injection. The exterior of each of the 2,061 Cosworth Vegas produced for the 1975 model year is black, and the interior is either black or white custom vinyl or black custom fabric. Additionally, each vehicle has gold accent striping, gold-colored aluminum wheels, a gold “rotated engine” dashboard bezel, and a gold-plated plaque with the Cosworth ID and build number.
